Bio

I am a busy actress & writer with over 25 years experience. As a writer I have had great success with my production, The Community Centre which I wrote in 2016 and took up to Edinburgh in 2019. This is a multi-ethnic comedy show which focuses in part on The Windrush Scandal and the attendant fallout. I am a trained actress with LAMDA acting certificates at Honours Level. I’ve also attended acting master classes at the TVI Studios in Los Angeles, USA. I have worked extensively in the theatre and I have appeared in ‘A Raisin in the Sun’ by Lorraine Hansberry at the Green Room Theatre & ‘A Caribbean Abroad’ by David Hermanstein at the Library Theatre. I’ve also appeared in ‘Mwana’ by Tawona Sithole at the Tron Theatre, Glasgow & the Traverse Theatre, Edinburgh. I’ve had featured roles on TV in 'Coronation Street', 'Emmerdale', 'The Royal', ‘Merseybeat’, ‘Verdict’ & ‘Brookside’. Last August (2021) I played Helena the Undertaker in Coronation over a few episodes. I’ve acted in BBC Radio 4 plays and had the lead role in ‘Whoopi Goldberg’s Country Life’ by Shelagh Delaney. Other radio plays are ‘Bad by Default’, ‘Number 10’ (radio series), ‘Ashes to Ashes’, ‘Chaos by Design’, ‘Shells on a Woven Chord’ & most recently ‘The Last Flag’. I have also created comedy sketch material for radio. I have performed as a stand-up comedienne and I’ve appeared at northern comedy venues such as the Frog & Bucket. I’ve toured nationwide with Northern Broadsides Theatre Company in ‘The Tempest’ playing Ariel and performance venues included the West Yorkshire Playhouse, The New Vic & the Citizen’s Theatre, Glasgow.
