Karla wrote the short drama Pretty Bitch which has been screened at festivals internationally including BFI Future Film Festival and Underwire Festival and won the Best Screenplay Award at the Van d’Or Awards. Her work has also been featured in the monologue anthology Hear Me Now published by Oberon and her plays have been performed at Arcola Theatre; Soho Theatre; Kiln Theatre; MAC Arts Centre, Birmingham and St James Theatre. She is currently developing a 4 x 60 min TV drama series and has been commissioned by Audible and LAMDA to write a brand-new audio drama. She is signed to Curtis Brown Agency.

Karla is an executive producer for the company she founded, MsMono; an award-winning production company making scripted female-centred projects. She is co-writer and executive producer on an 8 x 20 min comedy/thriller series co-produced with Hat Trick Podcast. She is also executive producer on a comedy/drama pilot commissioned by Audible. She executive produced the short film The Ride, written and directed by Tara Aghdashloo. The film is funded by BFI NETWORK, Toronto Arts and Canada Council of the Arts.
