TUNJI AKINSEHINWA is a cinematographer, documentary filmmaker and photographer who has lived, worked and travelled across the UK, Europe, and Africa. He has been fortunate enough to work and travel in many places. Much of his work has been across Africa where he shot the first ever Zombie horror film in Nigeria called Ojuju which is now listed as one of the top 12 Zombie films ever on Indiewire. His second film was the Nigerian gangster film O’Town which is being remastered and re-released this year. He was a director cameraman on the first ever series about African Artists titled African Masters. And shot a 6 -part TV drama called Dere, an African Tale for Ebony Life TV on Netflix. He has worked for Fox, MTV, Bloomberg, and the BBC as a location producer and cameraperson
He runs a lighting masterclass for diverse skin tones and has contributed to several related articles including an Inclusive lighting feature for Definition online magazine - 21st September 2022.
Tunji has taught cinematography and film production at multiple films schools in the UK. He has guest lectured at I-Rep film Festival, Realtime Film festival and the Pan-Atlantic University in Lagos and The University of Calavi in The Republic of Benin
He earned an MA in Film production from the Northern Film School, Leeds Beckett University in the UK and a PhD titled Identifying the Cinematography of Nigerian Cinema in the Nollywood Era. he is co-developing a social media app for African content.
Currently, he is an associate professor of practice in TV/film production and cinematography and the associate dean of COM DEI at Boston University.
