Karen Bryson – Actor/Writer/Director Her multi-award winning career spans over 25 years, across various multi-media platforms, both in front of the camera and more recently behind it. Karen was awarded an MBE in 2017 for her Services to Drama. She is best known for playing Avril Powell, in the critically acclaimed drama Shameless. Her recent acting projects include series regular in award winning Nordic drama White Wall, Black Narcissus (BBC and FX US), independent feature film REAL (directed by Aki Omoshaybi), Elinor Stone in Zack Snyder's Justice League (HBO MAX/Warner Brothers), Teacher (Channel 5). Karen has most recently appeared as series regular Leonora Hale in The Split by Emmy Award Winner Abi Morgan (BBC/BBC AMERICA/Sundance TV). She produced 'Family Reunion', winner of 'Best of the Fest' at the Triforce Short Film Festival, and for The Block, winner of 'Best Pilot' at the Ramsgate International Film Festival. Monochromatic is her directorial debut. Karen has just finished writing her first feature film 'The Art of Falling' and is looking to shoot her next short film The Last Dance. Karen has narrated many documentary’s including the landmark documentary series '1000 Years a Slave', Crime and Punishment, Beyond Escape to the Chateau and most recently Destination Wild screening this year Nat Geo channel and Disney+. As a voiceover artist, she has also entered the Gaming space playing various characters in high profile games including Motion Capture for multi award winning Baulder’s Gate 3 playing Counsellor Florrick. Giving back is extremely important to Karen and she uses her platform and skills as an actor to raise awareness for many charities including Solace Women's Aid for which she is an Ambassador.
